About Me / Contact Me

I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager, always saw myself as the fat one whenever in a group. I never really felt comfortable in my own skin. I joined weight watchers for the first time when I was 16 and started something that I tried for years to finish. While I did manage to get myself down to a healthy weight, I never was able to hit the goal I had set and was never fully happy with myself. I look back on the pictures now and think I must have been mad, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Back in 2009 I went travelling for a year and managed to gain more weight than ever. I came home at my very heaviest and decided to join straight back to weight watchers. My mind was not in it fully though, and while I lost about a stone I then met my boyfriend, and life got in the way. I managed to gain that stone back plus a bit more and I was shocked when I rejoined in January 2012 to find out I was 14stone 3.5lbs. I went home that night more determined than I had ever been that this would be the last time I was joining. I also decided to start writing this blog, I felt I needed to properly track my progress and I think it helped. It took me until february 2013 and a little bit of rethinking my goal weight, but for the first time ever I got my gold card and felt happy in my own body.

Maintaining the loss is a new challenge and one which is as tough as losing it, but more than anything I am sure I am not going back now!
